NemoValkyrja

My artist name is Nemo Valkyrja ("ja" = "ya" sound) and means Valkyrie in old Norse. My heritage is Norwegian and I love mythology, so I think it's a good fit :)

I graduated with dual Bachelor's degrees in Japanese and Asia Studies and lived abroad in Kyoto, Japan.

I started going to conventions in 2003, but was not an active cosplayer until 2007. As of late 2011, I've made around 12 costumes and certainly have some unfinished ones... (I'm slow!) I am not a "professional" cosplayer (does that even exist?).

I fell in love with photography in 2010 and own both Nikon and Canon DSLRs. I've been buying equipment gradually - and, like cosplay, I enjoy learning and experimenting as I go.

I'm not interested in promoting myself so please don't do it for me. I am not a model and I do not want to be. I do not want money or fame. I do not do nude work. For some reason, this is a hard concept for people to grasp but I assure you, it is as simple as that. I just like having my page here. I like dabbling in art and learning new things. I love following the amazing work by artists on this website! I want to share the work I do with fellow artists in artist communities. I want to collaborate with other artists too!
